Softball Recap: Central Crossing Comes Up Short

Grove City hit Central Crossing with a seven-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets lost 11-1 to the Greyhounds. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Comets have suffered against the Greyhounds since April 6, 2021.

Makayla Unrue made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Central Crossing now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Grove City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Central Crossing will welcome West Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Roughriders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grove City, they will venture away from home to take on Dublin Coffman at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Greyhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rocks have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
