Volleyball Recap: Mia Rivera's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Keystone Heights over Union County

Keystone Heights lost against Union County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Fightin' Tigers.

While Keystone Heights was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-10.

Keystone Heights' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Rivera, who had eight kills and one block. Rivera is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Keystone Heights has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Union County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keystone Heights will challenge Baker County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union County, they will head out to challenge Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
