Baseball Recap: Schurr Triumphs

Schurr posted their closest win since March 3rd on Thursday. They skirted past the Nogales Nobles 2-1. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Nobles, too.

The team relied heavily on Joseph Hernandez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Schurr is undefeated when Hernandez posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-13 otherwise. Joshua Talavera was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Schurr always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nogales only posted an OBP of .323.

Schurr's record now sits at 10-13. As for Nogales, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
