Basketball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Libertyville Wildcats

The Stevenson Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Libertyville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stevenson is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Stevenson beat Lake Zurich 38-32.

Meanwhile, Libertyville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-55 to Prospect. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Knights are ranked 40th).

Stevenson's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Libertyville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Stevenson beat Libertyville 49-42 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stevenson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
