Basketball Recap: Northwestern's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Corry on Saturday, Northwestern came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 35-29 to the Fairview Tigers on Tuesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from Makayla Presser-Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. The contest was Presser-Palmer's 26th in a row with at least 15 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northwestern fell to 2-1. As for Fairview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will head out to challenge North East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Fairview, they will venture away from home to square off against Central Tech at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
