Softball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Takes a Loss

St. Vincent-St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Archbishop Hoban Knights. The Fighting Irish were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Kendal Batchik made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Kim, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Archbishop Hoban, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Vincent-St. Mary will take on Padua Franciscan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archbishop Hoban, they will square off against Stow-Munroe Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.18 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
