Football Game Preview: Olentangy Braves vs. Marysville Monarchs

Two dominant backs in Andrew Wilber and JJ Henry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Olentangy Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Marysville Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Olentangy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Marysville likes a good challenge.

Olentangy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 54-7 victory over Thomas Worthington. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Braves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the CARDINALS are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, Marysville got themselves on the board against Dublin Jerome on Friday, but Dublin Jerome never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Celtics. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Celtics recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Olentangy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Marysville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Olentangy strolled past Marysville when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 31-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Braves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
