Basketball Recap: Hubbard Comes Up Short

Hubbard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bogan Bengals 67-4.

Bogan had a senior duo take command as Lauran Atkins went 7 for 12 en route to 18 points and five steals and Aliyah Sandoka dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Atkins has scored all season. Harmony Burgs was another key player, going 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points and eight boards.

Hubbard's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bogan, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Hubbard will be playing in front of their home fans against Englewood Stem at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hubbard is facing Englewood Stem at the right time seeing as Englewood Stem is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Bogan, they will host Chicago Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
