Baseball Recap: Spencerport Takes a Loss

Spencerport fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brockport on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4. The Rangers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Liam Watson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs and one double. Collin Bates was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Spencerport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Brockport, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Spencerport will be playing in front of their home fans against Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brockport, they are taking a road trip to challenge Greece Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
