Softball Recap: Lake Hornets vs. Union Yellowjackets
Lake duked it out with Union. in a bug-themed battle on Tuesday. The Lake Hornets fell just short of the Union Yellowjackets by a score of 16-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-20 back in February.
Daelyn Earls was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Kinsley Woods was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lydaysha Thames was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
