With a playoff win on the line, Spanish River rose to the challenge on Thursday. They never let the Park Vista Cobras get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Sharks, who have now won five matchups in a row.

The result came thanks to Giselle Portanova's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Spanish River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Ready, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Spanish River hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Spanish River's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Park Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Spanish River nor Park Vista have any future games scheduled.
