Baseball Recap: Times Squared Academy Comes Up Short

Times Squared Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it five. They came up short against the Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE, falling 13-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the PRIDE since June 9, 2021.

Times Squared Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominik Him, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and one run. That run marked the first that Him has scored this season.

As for Blackstone Valley Prep, the victory got them back to even at 5-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Blackstone Valley Prep's side, Alex Torres made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Torres has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Blackstone Valley Prep: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Adrian Fernandez Jimenez was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Cameron Beaudreau, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
