Softball Game Preview: Otsego Knights vs. Archbold Blue Streaks

The Otsego Knights will head out on the road to take on the Archbold Blue Streaks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Otsego's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Archbold's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Otsego barely beat Genoa Area the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Comets on Thursday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Archbold had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They never let the Golden Bears get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

The win made it two in a row for Otsego and bumps their season record up to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Archbold, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Otsego couldn't quite finish off Archbold in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
