Volleyball Recap: Downers Grove North Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Downers Grove North, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Downers Grove North not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Riverside-Brookfield to exactly 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17.

Aiden Akkawi paced Downers Grove North's offense, picking up 11 kills. Akkawi got some help from Ethan Weiner and his 14 assists. Akkawi was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.
