Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gunter, Blue Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Howe Bulldogs 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kyara Davis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Miranda Caro was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Blue Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Howe, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge will square off against S & S Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Howe, they will challenge Leonard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
