Softball Recap: Sayre Takes a Loss

Towanda hit Sayre with a eight-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sabres lost 17-2 to the Black Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Sabres in their meetings with the Black Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.

Abbie McGaughey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Rylee Lantz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Sayre's record now sits at 2-14. As for Towanda, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Sayre will face off against Sullivan County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Towanda does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
