Softball Recap: Concordia Beats St. Paul Lutheran for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Concordia had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They never let the St. Paul Lutheran Saints get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Fighting Orioles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Hemme made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Concordia got a massive performance out of Ava Mueller, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Mueller has posted since back in March. Abigail Jones was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Concordia's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Concordia nor St. Paul Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
