Basketball Game Preview: Gregory Gorillas vs. Chamberlain Cubs

The Gregory Gorillas will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Chamberlain Cubs at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gregory is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 64-43 to St. Mary's on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Gorillas in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Gregory got top-tier performance from Cole Serr, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Serr a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Colt Keiser, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Chamberlain unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Todd County on Saturday, falling 66-44.

Gregory took their victory against Chamberlain in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 62-36. Does Gregory have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chamberlain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
