Soccer Game Preview: Marcus vs. Braswell

The Marcus Marauders will head out on the road to square off against the Braswell Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Braswell took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Marcus, who comes in off a win.

Marcus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Hebron, who was ranked 13th at the time (Marcus was ranked tenth). Marcus skirted past Hebron 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Meanwhile, Braswell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against Little Elm, falling 3-0. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Bengals struggled afterwards.

Marcus pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. As for Braswell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Marcus took their win against Braswell in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 8-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marcus since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
