Basketball Recap: Lakeland Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

The third road contest was the charm for Lakeland Christian, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with a 50-42 win over the Zephyrhills Bulldogs on Tuesday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 70-66 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Lakeland Christian to victory were Joseph Donohue and D.J. Howard. Donohue went 8-for-17 en route to 21 points in addition to six steals and five boards, while Howard shot 44% from the field to rack up 17 points and three steals. Donohue's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Cael Straub was another key player, putting up five points.

Lakeland Christian's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian will welcome Tohopekaliga at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Zephyrhills, they and Clearwater Central Catholic will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played.
