Basketball Game Preview: Lanesboro Burros vs. Houston Hurricanes

The Lanesboro Burros will head out on the road to face off against the Houston Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lanesboro took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Mabel-Canton with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. The Burros' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, everything went Houston's way against Grand Meadow on Friday as Houston made off with a 75-52 win. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Houston's win came from a few key players Lanesboro will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carter Geiwitz, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rohweder, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Houston and bumps their season record up to 18-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.5 points. As for Lanesboro, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.

Lanesboro came up short against Houston in their previous meeting last Thursday, falling 69-56. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rohweder, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
