Volleyball Recap: Nuview Bridge's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of four wins, Nuview Bridge's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the California Military Institute Rough Riders by a score of 3-2. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rough Riders earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Nuview Bridge took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 17-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Alan C paced Nuview Bridge's offense, picking up 16 kills. C got some help from Junior B and his 33 assists. B was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Nuview Bridge's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 10-6. As for California Military Institute, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nuview Bridge will take on rival Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, California Military Institute is set to challenge their familiar foe San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
