Softball Game Preview: Rimrock Raiders vs. Glenns Ferry Pilots

The Rimrock Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Glenns Ferry Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rimrock comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Rimrock couldn't beat Notus on Monday even though they stacked ten runs on them in the fourth inning. The Raiders came up short against the Pirates, falling 21-11. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Glenns Ferry came up short against Melba on Tuesday and fell 7-4.

Taylor Martinez put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sahira Arevalo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Glenns Ferry's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Rimrock, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Rimrock might still be hurting after the 22-0 loss they got from Glenns Ferry in their previous meeting on April 7th. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
