Basketball Recap: Pittsburg Comes Up Short

Pittsburg lost against Sulphur Springs back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pittsburg Pirates took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sulphur Springs Wildcats.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Sulphur Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Pittsburg and Sulphur Springs should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Pittsburg (ranked 155th) will meet Paris (ranked 487th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs will face off against Bonham at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 541 places (148 vs. 689).
