Softball Recap: McDonald Victorious

McDonald won the last time they faced Lowellville and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Aubrey Evans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Evans wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Mancini, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Marissa Colarich was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

McDonald's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Lowellville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

McDonald will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rockets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
