Volleyball Recap: Horseshoe Bend Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Central of Coosa County on Thursday, Horseshoe Bend came back down to earth. The Generals fell 3-1 to the Elmore County Panthers on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Horseshoe Bend had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Kenzie Woods paced Horseshoe Bend's offense, picking up ten kills. Woods got some help from Lily Moss and her seven assists. Moss was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Horseshoe Bend now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Elmore County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Horseshoe Bend will host Benjamin Russell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elmore County, they will head out on the road to challenge Beauregard at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
