Softball Game Preview: Mountain Heritage Cougars vs. Avery County Vikings

For the second straight game, Mountain Heritage will face off against Avery County. The Cougars will welcome the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Heritage will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Mountain Heritage turned things around against Avery County on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-2 win. The match marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season.

Nevaeh Buchanan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Buchanan was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
