Recap: Everglades Gators vs. American Heritage Stallions
The Everglades Gators waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against American Heritage by a score of 83-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Everglades' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Coreem Hollingshead, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Hollingshead scored 15 or more points. Daunte Foster, Jr was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brendan Gerard, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Gerard's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Burrow , who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Everglades' victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for American Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-1.
Everglades won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Stoneman Douglas at 8:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Stoneman Douglas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Everglades is ranked 121st). American Heritage won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Elite Academy at 2:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023.
