Football Game Preview: Bishop Kelly Knights vs. Skyline Grizzlies + Official Tickets

The Bishop Kelly Knights will take on the Skyline Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Kelly is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Bishop Kelly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Blackfoot 40-8. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Kelly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Arellano, who rushed for 127 yards and two scores. Those 127 rushing yards gave Arellano a new career-high. Ben Avella was another key signal caller, throwing for 170 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 passes.

Meanwhile, Skyline faced Sandpoint in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Grizzlies walked away with a 43-35 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

A big part of Skyline's victory came down to the chemistry between John Giannini and his top target Zyan Crockett. Giannini rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries while Crockett gained 140 total yards and three touchdowns.

Skyline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Bishop Kelly's record is now 11-0. As for Skyline, their record now sits at 9-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bishop Kelly has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 191.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Bishop Kelly lost to Skyline on the road by a decisive 50-35 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
