Softball Recap: Scarborough Red Storm vs. Marshwood Hawks

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Scarborough had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Marshwood Hawks. The victory was familiar territory for Scarborough who now have six in a row.

Meghan Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Robinson has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Robinson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamie Kemper, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a double. Alana Sawyer was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Scarborough is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Marshwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
