Soccer Game Preview: Covenant Day vs. Providence Day

Covenant Day hasn't had much luck against Providence Day recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Chargers at 5:15 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Covenant Day's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Charlotte Country Day School on Tuesday. Covenant Day have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Providence Day put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Charlotte Latin. Providence Day's winning goal came courtesy of Blane McElroy.

Providence Day's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those six matches. As for Covenant Day, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3-2.
