Softball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. Leigh Longhorns

The Carlmont Scots will take on the Leigh Longhorns in a tournament on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Carlmont's offense. They lost 10-0 to Saint Francis on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Carlmont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kathrine Fung, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Leigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Leland. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Leigh's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Carlmont, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-7.
