Basketball Game Preview: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. Lake City Panthers

Marion has won five straight games at home, while Lake City has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Marion Swamp Foxes will host the Lake City Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Lake City heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Marion took over last week. Marion snuck past Atlantic Collegiate Academy with a 44-40 win on Tuesday.

Jaeda Davis was her usual excellent self, putting up 28 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Marion's points. Maliyah Williams was another key player, earning ten points.

Meanwhile, Lake City didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Atlantic Collegiate Academy on Friday, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory.

Lake City found their leader in sophomore Hannah Riles, who posted 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Riles has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jada Robinson, who put up seven points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Lake City has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
