Vardaman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Smithville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams put the hurt on the Seminoles with a sharp 14-7 win on Tuesday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.
Addi Lucius made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Lucius was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Haley Parker and Lyla Chandler did most of the damage at the plate: Parker scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Chandler scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Presley McGreger was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
The victory made it two in a row for Vardaman and bumps their season record up to 15-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Smithville, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
Vardaman will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seminoles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
