Basketball Game Preview: Desert Christian Knights vs. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy Griffins

Desert Christian hasn't had much luck against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Griffins at 7:00 p.m. Desert Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.

Desert Christian will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Lancaster Baptist, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights walked away with a 67-54 win over the Eagles on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Josh Nuzum and Kenji Sams were among the main playmakers for Desert Christian as the former posted 16 points along with six steals and five boards and the latter shot 64% from the field en route to 17 points. Nuzum's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Huitink, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Desert Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, The Palmdale Aerospace Academy played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through an 88-39 loss at the hands of Vasquez. The Griffins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-25.

Having lost for the first time this season, The Palmdale Aerospace Academy fell to 6-1. As for Desert Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Desert Christian was dealt a bruising 88-56 loss at the hands of The Palmdale Aerospace Academy in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Griffins' Jacob Sacopla, who went 11-for-17 to rack up 25 points and four steals.
