The Bigfork Vikings and Valkyries will venture away from home to challenge the Libby Loggers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bigfork will be strutting in after a win while Libby will be coming in after a loss.
Bigfork had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Noxon on Tuesday. The Vikings and Valkyries blew past the Red Devils 13-1. Considering the Vikings and Valkyries have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Lewis and Max Schara were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lewis pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Schara tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Lewis posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Lewis went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Schara got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Bigfork got a massive performance out of Wyatt Hickey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave Hickey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Bigfork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Libby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to Polson, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Bigfork has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Libby, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Everything went Bigfork's way against Libby in their previous meeting back in April, as Bigfork made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings and Valkyries since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
