Softball Recap: Rutherford Gets the Win

While Rutherford's win against Saddle Brook wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Falcons 11-9. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rutherford's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Saddle Brook, they dropped their record down to 11-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Rutherford will face off against Leonia at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Saddle Brook, they will challenge Bergen Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
