The Schurr Spartans will be taking part in a tournament against the Yucaipa Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Schurr is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.

Schurr saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Palos Verdes by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Schurr saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Melina Sanchez, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Kayla Rodriguez was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, everything went Yucaipa's way against Carter on Saturday as Yucaipa made off with a 9-2 win.

This is the second loss in a row for Schurr and nudges their season record down to 4-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Yucaipa, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
