Preview: Lordsburg vs. Cloudcroft
Cloudcroft have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Lordsburg on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
Cloudcroft put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They were fully in charge, breezing past Mescalero Apache 40-0. Among those leading the charge for Cloudcroft was junior Dylan Eldridge, who picked up 149 yards on the ground and accumulated 310 passing yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Eldridge's 51-yard TD bomb to Dylan Eldridge in the third quarter.
As for Lordsburg, they had a rough outing against Zuni, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Lordsburg were able to grind out a solid victory over Capitan last Friday, winning 40-32.
Their wins bumped Cloudcroft to 4-3 and Lordsburg to 2-6. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Cloudcroft and Lordsburg will really light up the scoreboard.
