Baseball Game Preview: Greeley Quakers vs. Briarcliff Bears

The Greeley Quakers will square off against the Briarcliff Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

The scorekeeper got an easy start last Friday as neither Greeley nor Putnam Valley made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Quakers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Quakers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Briarcliff might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Croton-Harmon who claimed the real prize. The Bears fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5.

Lucas Martinez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Amador, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Greeley's record is now 1-1. As for Briarcliff, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Greeley beat Briarcliff 5-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Quakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
