Mead entered their tilt with Longmont on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Longmont Trojans 55-14. With the Mavericks ahead 36-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Mead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caroline Kron led the charge by going 6 of 8 en route to 15 points and three steals. Kron is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Elena Gomez was another key player, going 5 for 11 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Mead was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Longmont only racked up three assists.

Longmont's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zia Gonzales, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Mead's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.7% in those games and 31.3% outside of them. As for Longmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mead will challenge Fairview at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Fairview likes a good challenge. Longmont has already played their next contest (against Monarch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
