It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the New Castle Hurricanes 4-3. This was payback for the Fightin' Planets, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Mars and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for New Castle, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Mars will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hurricanes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
