Football Game Preview: Edinburg Bobcats vs. San Marcos Rattlers

The Edinburg Bobcats will be playing at home against the San Marcos Rattlers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Edinburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Veterans Memorial by a score of 24-13. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Aidden Sanchez looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Edinburg better keep an eye on Justin Tardy. He was instrumental in San Marcos' win, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one TD. Jah'Marien Nichols was in the mix too, providing the Rattlers with one touchdown.

San Marcos' run defense was locked in: Eagle Pass could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Darius Davis for the heroic effort on defense: he. San Marcos didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.7.

San Marcos didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mason McGuire, Tardy, Kaden Joseph, and Henry Harris picked up one apiece. Izayah Young was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Edinburg's record now sits at 7-4. As for San Marcos, their record is now an identical 7-4.
