Basketball Game Preview: Falcon Falcons vs. The Classical Academy Titans

Falcon and The Classical Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Falcon Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against The Classical Academy Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Falcon is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Sand Creek: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Falcon blew Sand Creek out of the water with a 52-15 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-4.

Cobelyn Wiesner had a dynamite game for Falcon, going 9 of 19 on her way to 18 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hunter, who posted eight points along with 11 boards and four steals.

Falcon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, The Classical Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their match with ease, bagging a 49-11 win over the Cardinals. The Titans pushed the score to 34-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals had little chance of recovering from.

Falcon has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for The Classical Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Falcon strolled past The Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 53-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falcon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
