Football Game Preview: Midland Legacy Rebels vs. Midland Bulldogs

Midland Legacy has gone 8-2 against Midland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Midland Legacy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.

Midland Legacy is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since October 18, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Permian by a score of 51-48. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (45), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ja'Braylen Anders, who picked up 173 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Hayes Hamm also helped with two TDs in total.

Meanwhile, Midland's game on Saturday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 34-27 to San Angelo Central.

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Midland Legacy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Midland Legacy took their win against Midland when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 28-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
