Softball Game Preview: Muhlenberg Muhls vs. Governor Mifflin Mustangs

Muhlenberg is 2-7 against Governor Mifflin since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Muhls will welcome the Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Muhlenberg is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 14-1 to Twin Valley.

Kaylee Jablonski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Governor Mifflin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Conrad Weiser, falling 23-8.

Gabby Barto was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Olivia Grosch was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Muhlenberg's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Governor Mifflin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Muhlenberg's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Muhls have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Governor Mifflin, though, as they've been averaging only 0.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Muhlenberg continue to outrun the ball?

Everything went Muhlenberg's way against Governor Mifflin in their previous matchup back in March, as Muhlenberg made off with an 18-12 win. Do the Muhls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
