Baseball Recap: Pontotoc Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

On Monday, the Pontotoc Warriors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Center Hill Mustangs 8-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Pontotoc got a great performance from Caden Spears as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malachi Witcher, who went a perfect2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Jaxon Dandridge was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pontotoc pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs over those games. As for Center Hill, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pontotoc will face off against North Pontotoc at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Center Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Southaven at 7:00 p.m.
