Softball Recap: Fountain Hills Comes Up Short

If Fountain Hills was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Scottsdale Christian Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons lost 13-7 to the Eagles on Friday. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Friday.

Sammantha Hughes was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Tayler Sinyella, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Fountain Hills now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.

Looking ahead, Fountain Hills will take on Madison Highland Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Red Rock at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Scorpions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.55 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
