Basketball Recap: Schulenburg Piles Up the Points Against Bloomington

Schulenburg won the last time they faced Bloomington and things went their way on Friday too. The Schulenburg Shorthorns blew past the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats 60-17. The Shorthorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Schulenburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miranda Bonner, who went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points and six steals. Bonner has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Jenna Guentert was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Schulenburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Schulenburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Bloomington, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-26.

Schulenburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-43 loss against Shiner on the 4th. Bloomington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
