Basketball Recap: Saint Viator Comes Up Short

Saint Viator lost against Nazareth Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Saint Viator Lions were beaten by the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners 62-34. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.

Ava Garcia was Saint Viator's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Garcia also led the team in rebounds with five. Maggie Ratzki took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Saint Viator has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season. As for Nazareth Academy, the victory (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 28-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Viator will challenge Chicago Hope Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nazareth Academy, they will take on Lincoln-Way West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
